Climate: Jamaica's climate is tropical with constant warm to hot temperatures all year round.
 
Language: The official language of Jamaica is English. Jamaicans primarily speak an English-African Creole language known as Jamaican Patois, which has become known widely through the spread of Reggae music.
 
Currency: The Jamaican Dollar, ISO Code JMD, is the official currency of Jamaica. The Jamaican dollar is divided into 100 cents. As of May 2005, the exchange rate was 61.040 Jamaican dollars to the US dollar.

Population: The population of Jamaica in 2003 was estimated by the United Nations at 2,651,000, which placed it as number 135 in population among the 193 nations of the world. In that year approximately 7% of the population was over 65 years of age, with another 31% of the population under 15 years of age.
 
Capital City: Kingston is the capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island.
