A leading commercial property agent is working with Business School students to develop a social media marketing plan to drive sales growth.
Garness Jones, which provides sales and survey services for commercial properties in the East Yorkshire and Humber region, is consulting MSc students to develop a plan to establish them as a leader in social media marketing to customers.
David Garness, Managing Director, said: ‘We are getting over 3,500 property searches a month on our website but we want to be better connected with our customers - to provide them with relevant, up-to-date information and news that will help their businesses.
● ‘We believe we can offer both our current and future customers, an enhanced service by embracing digital channels - and we have had some excellent advice from the masters students on the best strategy.
'We will be digesting advice from our marketing consultants combined with excellent student presentations before we press on to get things just right for our clients and customers.’
Social media marketing plans, created by students studying for an MSc in Marketing Management, were presented to Garness Jones in a competitive pitching process at the Business School.
The students had assessed the market conditions, competitor profiles and the company’s current marketing methods to develop their plans.
Marketing lecturer, Peter Andrews, said:
● ‘The students presented their findings in a highly professional manner and had developed some very creative approaches to help Garness Jones grow their business.
I have no doubt that their strategies will have an integral role in helping the company increase their followers online as well as their conversion of leads in to sales.
‘In return, the students have been given a great opportunity to put their learning into practice, to create social media marketing plans that can be used in a real-life context for the company’s future success.
● ‘We are extremely grateful to Garness Jones for providing this chance - it is an invaluable experience for our students.’
