Study in Croatia

Climate: Croatia has two climates, as you may well expect. The coast has a typically Mediterranean climate consisting of hot, dry, sunny weather during summer, and relatively mild - though somtimes wet - weather in winter.

Language:
Croatian is the official language in Croatia. It is a South Slavic language and along with Serbian and Bosnian it belongs to the Central South Slavic diasystem. It is written with the Croatian alphabet, which is a variant of the Latin alphabet. The alphabet was modelled after the Czech alphabet and contains one letter of the Latin script for each sound in the language.

Currency:
The kuna, also written as HRK, is the official currency used in Croatia. Meaning "marten" in Croatian, the kuna is broken into 100 lipa, subunits meaning "linden."

Population:
The population of Croatia is relatively fairly small. A 2007 survey assessed the population in Croatia as being just under 4.5 million people and, unlike most countries the population of Croatia appears to be falling as opposed to growing.

Capital City:
Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. It is in the northwest of the country, along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain.
