Study in Finland 

Climate: Finland has a humid and cool semi continental climate, characterized by warm summers and freezing winters. The climate type in southern Finland is north temperate climate. Winters of southern Finland  are usually 4 months long, and the snow typically covers the land from middle of December to early April.

Language: Finnish and Swedish are the ?national? languages of Finland, with mostly equal status in the jurisdiction, although Finnish dominates in most parts of the country. The ?other domestic language? is studied in the compulsory education and bilinguality is quite common in the bilingual parts of the country.

Currency: Finland's currency is the Euro (EUR), made up of 100 cents. Banknotes come in denominations of 500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 euros, and coins in denominations of 1 and 2 euros, and 50, 20, 10, and 5 cents.

Population: The population of Finland was estimated in July of 2000 as 5,167,486. The population growth rate is a very small 0.17 percent and generally has been small. Finland has a high proportion of elderly: only 18 percent of the population are under 14 years of age and 15 percent are over 65.

Capital City: Helsinki ( listen (help?info); Swedish: Helsingfors, listen (help?info)) is the capital and largest city in Finland. It is in the region of Uusimaa, located in southern Finland, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland.
