Climate: Malta has a Subtropical-Mediterranean climate (K ppen climate classification Csa),[65][66] with mild winters and warm to hot summers. Rain occurs mainly in winter, with summer being generally dry.

Language: 
The Maltese language (Maltese: Malti) is the constitutional national language of Malta. The Constitution also enshrines it as the country's official language, alongside English. Italian was the official language of Malta until 1934, when English and Maltese replaced it.

Currency: 
The lira was the currency of Malta from 1972 until 31 December 2007. The lira was abbreviated as Lm, although the traditional ₤ sign was often used locally. In English, the Maltese currency was sometimes referred to as the pound.

Population: 
The population of Malta in 2003 was estimated by the United Nations at 394,000, which placed it as number 165 in population among the 193 nations of the world. In that year approximately 12% of the population was over 65 years of age, with another 20% of the population under 15 years of age.

Capital City: 
Valletta is the capital of Malta, colloquially known as Il-Belt (English: The City) in Maltese. It is located in the central-eastern portion of the island of Malta and the historical city has a population of 6,098.
