Study in Slovakia 

Climate: The Slovak climate is generally temperate, with four seasons. Summers are warm with temperatures in July averaging 21 C, while the coldest month, January, averages-2 C. Winter brings snowfall, which usually lasts from November to May in the Tatras. The mountains are colder and wetter than the lowlands in general, with most rain falling in June and July.

Language: 
The official language is Slovak, a member of the Slavic language family. Hungarian is widely spoken in the southern regions and Rusyn is used in some parts of the Northeast. Minority languages hold co-official status in the municipalities in which the size of the minority population meets the legal threshold of 20%.

Currency: 
In 1993, the Czechoslovak federation split in two, forming two new countries. The currency of the Czechoslovak federation, the Czechoslovak koruna, also split introducing two new currencies: The Czech koruna and the Slovak koruna or crown. The Slovak koruna (SKK) is the official currency used in Slovakia.

Population: 
The population of Slovakia in 2003 was estimated by the United Nations at 5,402,000, which placed it as number 106 in population among the 193 nations of the world. In that year approximately 11% of the population was over 65 years of age, with another 19% of the population under 15 years of age.

Capital City: 
Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and, with a population of about 431,000, also the country's largest city.
