Study in Mauritius 
Climate: The local climate is tropical, modified by southeast trade winds; there is a warm, dry winter from May to November and a hot, wet, and humid summer from November to May. Anti-cyclones affect the country during May to September. Cyclones affect the country during November April. Hollanda (1994) and Dina (2002) were the worst two last cyclones to have affected the island.
 
Language: The Mauritian Constitution makes no mention of an official language and its one million citizens speak mostly Mauritian Creole, a French-based creole, English and French. It is only in the Parliament that the official language is English, although any member of the National Assembly can still address the chair in French.
 
Currency: Mauritius currency is known as Mauritian Rupee. It is divided into 100 cents. The symbol for the currency of Mauritius is Rp. It is abbreviated as MUR.

Population:
The estimated population of Mauritius in July 1993 was 1,106,516 with a population growth rate of 0.95 percent for 1993. According to the 1990 census the population was 1,065,988, of whom 34,292 lived on Rodrigues and 170 on outer islands.
 
Capital City:
Port Louis is the capital of Mauritius. It is the largest city of the country and main port, which borders the Indian Ocean. It is located in the Port Louis District. The population is 147,688 (2003 census).
