Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Sets Unprecedented Record of No.1 for Ten Times

The Executive MBA (EMBA) Program, jointly offered by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and the Kellogg School of Management, has been ranked No.1 in the world in the latest Financial Times (FT) Global EMBA Rankings. This year marks the tenth time the Program has topped this highly respected international chart, standing unrivalled in the world.

Welcoming the record-setting achievement, Prof. Wei SHYY, President of HKUST, said: “Amid this highly challenging year both in Hong Kong and globally, the encouraging outcome achieved by the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program reflects the importance of sustained endeavors in driving innovation to meet the changing needs of the business world. The Program confirms our commitment to excellence and this is one of the best gifts to mark the coming 30th anniversary of HKUST.”

According to the FT Global EMBA Rankings 2020, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program has achieved outstanding performances in a number of surveyed fields.  For example, in the career progress rank which calculates the changes in seniority and the size of the company our alumni work in versus before their studies, the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program leaped to No.8 this year. Its graduates continued to achieve the highest average salary three years after graduation, reaching US$528,057 (HK$4,092,468) per annum or an increase of 67%.

Diversity is an important component of the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program. The mix of students, faculty and advisory board members, by gender and nationality, continued to achieve steady progress and contribute to the ongoing success of the Program.

“We are delighted to see the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program receive the world’s top status for the tenth time. This represents an incredible source of pride in the HKUST community,” said Prof. TAM Kar Yan, Dean of HKUST Business School. “Our East-West partnership with the Kellogg School of Management will continue to provide the highest quality executive education, nurturing responsible leaders armed with new insights and great resilience to bring a positive change to the increasingly dynamic world.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Founding Director Prof. Steven DEKREY and current Program Director Judy AU for playing an indispensable role to the program’s long-standing success over the past 20 years, and Academic Director Prof. Jaideep SENGUPTA for upholding the best and timely business education for our students,” added Prof. TAM.

The Kellogg-HKUST EMBA Program was launched in 1998 to offer the best management education for international talent. Over 1,125 alumni and elite executive students from around the world have formed a global network to exchange ideas and forge powerful connections.  Despite the pandemic outbreak this year, the Program has organized more than one hundred online events, including classes and information sharing sessions, to keep our students and alumni learning and staying connected.
