Aimed at rewarding, recognising and celebrating teaching professionals, CENTA Teaching Professionals’ Olympiad (TPO) 2020 is an online event. Registrations are now open at https://centa.org/centa-tpo/
CENTA Teaching Professionals’ Olympiad (TPO) is an International competition that aims to spotlight outstanding teachers. The two-stage competition tests entrants on competencies such as subject expertise, content development & planning, student assessment & remediation. The top 5,000 teachers from the first stage of TPO 2020 will then selected for TPO 2020 finals, scheduled to take place in January 2021.
The University of Buckingham has collaborated with CENTA to award a ‘Certificate of Teaching Excellence’ prize to 20 winning teachers. The prize includes two one hour live workshop sessions, a two week mentorship scheme and a ‘Certificate’ of Teaching Excellence’ to be awarded at the end of the programme.
Anyone participating can take the preliminary stage test at anytime from anywhere until December 31, 2020. The initial stage includes a multiple-choice objective test that is still highly practice-oriented. TPO is relevant for anyone who is interested in teaching, including teachers, school principals, students enrolled in teacher professional courses, professional fellows in Education and even parents. CENTA TPO is available in 15 subject tracks across grade levels.
TPO is an initiative of Centre for Teacher Accreditation (CENTA), a social enterprise that works to support a community of 200,000 teachers through their entire career cycle (“hire-to-retire”) through accreditation, professional development and exciting job opportunities.
