Universidad de los Andes School of Management has officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education and accreditation, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in MBA business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum management, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and alumni of Universidad de los Andes School of Management (UASM) are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 49,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
The School of Management is part of the Universidad de los Andes and is based in Bogota, Colombia. The University is an independent and innovative institution that promotes pluralism, tolerance, respect for ideas, and academic excellence.
The UASM offers two undergraduate programmes, a doctoral programme in management, seven specialised master programmes, three MBA programmes, three graduate specialisation programmes and a wide range of executive education offerings.
Members of AMBA’s visiting accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the academic reputation of the School in the Colombian market and internationally. The panel also noted the strong leadership of the University and the School. They also acknowledged the sense of trust in the School’s leadership team throughout the University.
The School’s strategic thinking behind new initiatives was also mentioned by the panel. They highlighted the example of the redesign of the EMBA, which now integrates sustainability and ethics throughout the curriculum, embracing experiential and challenge-based learning.
“The learning experience of the MBA programmes at Universidad de los Andes School of Management is build around the virtues of courage, clarity of vision and adaptability. Our alumni and students community represents one of the best assets that Colombia has in order to collectively create a much-needed road map to emerge from the current crises stronger and deeply committed to the wellbeing and prosperity of the Colombian companies and citizens. This is our primary responsibility as educators”, said Veneta Andonova, UASM’s Dean.
The accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to continuously perform at the highest level..
‘The School of Management at the Universidad de los Andes is a valued part of our Business School network,’ said Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA), said, ‘AMBA only accredits the top 2% of Business Schools globally, making the quality of our Schools world class.
