Monash Business School’s Global Executive MBA program has made a stunning debut among the ranks of the world’s most prestigious executive MBA programs, ranking no. 34 in the latest edition of the 2022 QS Executive MBA rankings.
This is the first time the Monash GEMBA program – which launched just four years ago in 2018 – has appeared in the widely-watched executive education rankings.
It has also been ranked at no.9 in the Asia Pacific region.
A 15-month intensive part-time program for experienced managers, the Global Executive MBA at Monash Business School sets itself apart from competitors with a strong focus on global partnerships with other world-leading business schools, and a highly-applied, executive-level experience working with leading technology companies.
GEMBA distinguishes itself globally by its partnerships with leading international business schools INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France), China-Europe International Business School (Shanghai, China) and New York University Stern School of Business (NYC, USA).
Professor Simon Wilkie, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics and Head of Monash Business School says this is an outstanding debut ranking.
“I congratulate Professor Patrick Butler and his highly committed team on this result. We live in a globally connected world and the flow of data, ideas and talent that this program delivers is crucial to making a significant and lasting impact.”
Professor Patrick Butler, Director of the Global Executive MBA, says the Monash program provides a critical impetus for managers seeking to advance to more responsible and senior positions.
“We know that today, the leadership and strategic requirements of the C-suite are less about demonstrating specialist skills and more about making mature contributions to complex strategy issues, and knowing how to grow a business in an ever-changing and often disruptive environment,” says Professor Butler.
“With the support and supervision of experienced academics and professors of practice, GEMBA participants work with companies on advanced manufacturing, life sciences and digital transformation projects to understand and apply cutting-edge business models in new sectors.”
The GEMBA Executive MBA program at Monash Business School attracts engineers, physicians, policy experts and PhD-qualified scientists from diverse sectors such as energy, biotechnology, professional services, healthcare, manufacturing and infrastructure.
“We deliberately recruit for diversity,” Professor Butler says, “precisely what mature managers need to test and challenge their often deeply-held views.
“Assumptions about success in business are constantly contested in volatile and ambiguous environments; leadership is now a matter of constantly calibrating for innovation and transformation.”
