The University of Adelaide named in top five for AFR rankings

The University of Adelaide has been recognised as one of the country’s top tertiary institutions in The Australian Financial Review’s Best University Rankings.

The University was judged to sit in fifth spot with an overall score of 78.

Professor Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) at the University of Adelaide said the ranking was a positive achievement for the University.

“This latest accolade demonstrates the University of Adelaide’s passion for teaching the next generation of leaders in subjects that will play a key role now and, in the future,” said Professor Gallagher.

The Australian Financial Review ranking recognises traditional notions of excellence, such as research and career impact, alongside important measures of student satisfaction and equity.

It uses publicly available information and details from the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Times Higher Education (THE), QS World Universities (QS) and CWTS Leiden.

The ranking is built around four key criteria, research, teaching, career impact and equity; the University recorded scores of 8, 3, 8 and 12 respectively.
