Robert Gordon University (RGU) has risen to second in Scotland for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2020, and second in the UK*.
The university was able to achieve its highest score to date for a second year in a row, securing an 89.96% overall student satisfaction rating, while once again performing above the national average in every category of the survey.
These results are a testament to RGU’s student-centred approach to the learning experience. The university works collaboratively with its student body, incorporating their feedback to continually enhance its support services and curriculum in response to students’ needs.
Professor Liz Hancock, Vice Principal for Academic Development and Student Experience, said: “A high-quality student experience is vital to the university’s purpose, and it is phenomenal to see students satisfied with their experiences at RGU, especially at a time which has been testing for so many across the nation.
“Students are at the centre of the university’s approach to design and delivery of teaching and learning, and they have the opportunity to help shape the support they are provided with throughout their studies. This approach equips our students with the transferable skills, enterprising knowledge and behaviours that employers favour while helping them to succeed in their studies and grow as individuals.
“To have exceeded the national average in all categories of the survey demonstrates the quality of RGU’s courses and the hard work of colleagues across the whole university.”
*Overall student satisfaction with the university has moved up by 1.35 percentage points since last year, which also places the university at second place in the UK when excluding small, specialist and private providers.
The NSS is a nationally recognised annual survey of final-year undergraduates in the UK, administered by Ipsos MORI, an independent market research agency. It invites participants to reflect on the entirety of their learning experience, including academic support, learning resources, management, personal development and satisfaction.
