Additional Information for International Students

Ranked among the Top 1% of universities worldwide by the London Times Higher Education World Rankings, Stony Brook University is the home to students, professors, researchers and scholars from around the world.

Receiving Your I-20

Your Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant F-1 Student Status) will not be issued until you have been admitted to Stony Brook University and have paid the required tuition deposit. Students already attending a school in the U.S. (high school or college) must be released from SEVIS by their advisor and submit the International Transfer Report.

Do not schedule an appointment with your consulate or schedule travel plans until you have received your I-20.

Visa and Immigration Services

SBU's Visa and Immigration Services office provides immigration and support services to international students, scholars and faculty.
